Athens: The Gateway to Greece’s History and Culture
Iconic landmarks and refined stays in Greece’s vibrant capital.
Our journey began in Athens, a city where ancient history meets vibrant modernity. Exploring Athens was like stepping into a living museum, with every corner revealing a story waiting to be discovered.
Accommodations in Athens: We stayed at the Divani Palace Acropolis, a hotel ideally located near Athens’ most iconic landmarks. Its comfortable rooms and rooftop terrace with views of the Parthenon made it a convenient and welcoming base for our group. The hotel’s proximity to the Acropolis and the Plaka district allowed us to explore the city with ease.
Athens Highlights:
• Exploring the Acropolis: The group visited this iconic site independently, taking in the grandeur of the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion. Wandering through these ancient ruins was a humbling experience, and everyone enjoyed the freedom to explore at their own pace.
• The Acropolis Museum: This modern museum was a perfect complement to our visit to the Acropolis. Its beautifully curated exhibits showcased ancient artifacts, providing a deeper understanding of the history and culture of ancient Greece.
• Plaka District: Strolling through the cobblestone streets of Plaka, we discovered charming shops selling handmade jewelry, artisanal goods, and local delicacies. It was a delightful mix of history and modernity, with plenty of opportunities to soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
• Welcome Dinner with Greek Music and Dancing: To kick off the trip, we enjoyed a group dinner at a traditional taverna. The evening featured authentic Greek dishes like moussaka and dolmades, accompanied by live music and dancing. It was a joyful start to our journey, fostering connections and setting the tone for the rest of the trip.

Santorini: A Dreamy Escape to the Aegean
Sunsets, wine, and elegance on Greece’s most romantic island.
Next, we flew to Santorini, a destination known for its iconic whitewashed architecture, blue-domed churches, and breathtaking sunsets. Santorini’s charm lies in its ability to slow time down, inviting you to savor every moment.
Accommodations in Santorini: We stayed at the Orama Hotel & Spa in Fira, a property that offered elegant Cycladic design and a tranquil atmosphere. Its convenient location allowed us to easily explore the vibrant town of Fira and enjoy the island’s unique charm.
Santorini Highlights:
• Ancient Ruins of Akrotiri: This archaeological site, often referred to as the "Pompeii of the Aegean," offered a fascinating glimpse into the island’s Minoan history. The preserved frescoes and structures captivated the history enthusiasts in our group.
• Exploring Oia and Fira: Wandering the narrow streets of these picturesque towns, the group enjoyed boutique shopping, stunning photo opportunities, and sampling local treats like loukoumades (Greek honey donuts).
• Sunset Catamaran Cruise: One of the highlights of our time in Santorini was an evening cruise along the caldera. The group shared a delicious dinner and wine while marveling at the stunning sunset over the Aegean Sea.
• Local Wine Tasting: Santorini’s volcanic soil produces unique wines, and we indulged in a tasting experience at a family-owned vineyard. The crisp Assyrtiko wines paired beautifully with local cheeses and olives, making it a favorite for the foodies in our group.

Crete: A Blend of Culture, History, and Coastal Charm
Authentic charm and rich heritage in Greece’s largest island.
Our final destination was Crete, Greece’s largest island and a place that offers a perfect mix of history, culture, and natural beauty. Crete’s charm lies in its ability to cater to a variety of interests, making it an excellent choice for group travel.
Accommodations in Crete: We stayed at a beachfront hotel near Heraklion, chosen for its practical location and easy access to local attractions. While not a luxury property, it provided direct access to a beautiful beach and was conveniently located near Heraklion’s lively center, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel offered a comfortable base for the final leg of our journey.
Crete Highlights:
• Palace of Knossos: A visit to this iconic archaeological site brought the fascinating Minoan civilization to life. Our guide shared stories of King Minos and the legendary labyrinth, making it a memorable experience for the group.
• Exploring Heraklion’s Markets: The lively streets and markets of Heraklion offered a chance to shop for local crafts, herbs, and traditional Cretan products. It was a sensory delight, with vibrant colors, enticing aromas, and friendly vendors.
• Farewell Dinner by the Sea: To wrap up the trip, we enjoyed a group dinner at a seaside taverna. The sound of waves, fresh seafood, and heartfelt conversations made it a perfect way to reflect on the incredible journey we had shared.
