Yes. Royal Princess is a strong Dubrovnik choice for families who value space, pools and a waterfront resort setting. Its biggest advantages are the all-suite accommodation and access to the entire Royal complex. The main caveats are deep, rocky sea access and dining that, in my experience, did not always match the strength of the rooms and resort facilities.

The Suite Was the Biggest Surprise
Our one-bedroom suite gave our family of four a king bedroom, spacious separate living room with double pull-out sofa, kitchenette area, balcony and two bathrooms. It was far roomier than I expected by European standards.
Housekeeping was prompt each day, beds were made and towels refreshed. There was no evening turndown service during our stay. Full-size L’Occitane bath products were a nice touch.

The Pools Are a Major Family Strength
My children’s favorite was the freshwater pool near Vista Restaurant. It was roughly 1.5 meters deep, long enough for real swimming and warm enough that they happily stayed in for long stretches. Being beside Vista made lunch especially easy.
The two seawater pools closer to the Adriatic felt colder to my children. The indoor pool became surprisingly valuable during extreme summer heat: they could get out of the sun without giving up swimming.

Understand What “Beach” Means Here
Royal is directly on the Adriatic, but this is not a shallow sandy family beach. The coastline is rocky, with attractive terraces and lounge areas on different levels. Adults and confident swimmers may love stepping directly into deep, clear water.
For smaller children or hesitant swimmers, access can feel intimidating. There is no long shallow shoreline. I would call Royal an exceptional waterfront resort with sea access rather than a traditional family beach resort.

Dining
Breakfast offered plenty of choice, including useful options for guests avoiding gluten or dairy, but the selection changed very little day to day. Sunset was my favorite resort restaurant. Vista has been renovated and its 2026 concept includes sushi and a broader menu.
Still, overall food quality and restaurant service did not consistently feel as strong as the five-star accommodations and physical resort. I would use the resort restaurants for convenience and intentionally plan some dinners elsewhere.

Location
The resort lists Dubrovnik Old Town at about 4.9 km. Bus No. 6 stops close to the hotel and was an easy way for us to travel into the city. The long waterfront promenade toward Lapad is another major advantage.

Choosing your Royal Dubrovnik hotel
Royal Dubrovnik has five hotels, but the right choice depends on much more than star rating. Evyssa Vacations can match the room, building and Dubrovnik itinerary to the way your family actually travels.
