For most U.S. luxury travelers, I would narrow the five Royal Dubrovnik hotels to Royal Princess and Royal Blue. Choose Princess for suite space and family comfort; choose Blue for contemporary style, rooftop atmosphere and views. The surprise is that the five hotels function remarkably like one interconnected waterfront resort.

One Resort, Five Hotels
Before staying at Royal Princess, I expected five neighboring sister properties. In reality, the experience was far more seamless. You can walk between buildings through the lobby areas or outside along the waterfront. There were no bracelets, and shared pools, restaurants and public spaces felt like one resort. Some controlled areas, including spa access, required a room-key scan.
Even at roughly 90% occupancy, the complex rarely felt like a mega-resort because guests dispersed among multiple pools, terraces, restaurants and rock-level lounge areas. Prime loungers between about 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. could still be challenging to find.

Royal Princess: Best for Space
Royal Princess is the all-suite hotel and reopened after a thoughtful renovation in Spring 2026. Our one-bedroom suite had a king bedroom, spacious living room with double pull-out sofa, kitchenette area, balcony and two bathrooms. For a family of four, it felt exceptionally generous by European standards.
For many U.S. families, that real separation between sleeping and living space is the strongest reason to choose Princess.

Royal Blue: Best for Rooftop Atmosphere
Royal Blue is the distinctive curved building at the end of the complex. It opened in 2017 and its signature feature is the adults-only rooftop infinity pool and Blue Sky Lounge, with panoramic Adriatic views, a bar and live music on selected evenings.
I would lean toward Blue for couples, honeymooners and travelers who prioritize contemporary style and sunset atmosphere. I also noticed Illy espresso machines in Blue rooms, while our Princess suite had a kettle and instant coffee.

The Other Three
Royal Palm is a five-star option known for spacious, refurbished rooms and suites with balconies. Royal Ariston is five-star and is positioned by the resort as having especially convenient access to shared amenities, plus an adults-only spa. Royal Neptun is the four-star original property and can be the value entry point into the same broader resort environment.

My Shortcut
If space wins, start with Princess. If contemporary style and rooftop ambiance win, start with Blue. The shared-resort concept means the building you sleep in matters less than it would at a conventional hotel complex.

Choosing your Royal Dubrovnik hotel
Royal Dubrovnik has five hotels, but the right choice depends on much more than star rating. Evyssa Vacations can match the room, building and Dubrovnik itinerary to the way your family actually travels.
