There’s a difference between a hotel that looks five star and a hotel that feels five star.
This one feels it. Everywhere.

First Impressions
Hotel Park in Split ended up being my favorite, and the reason is simple. It understands hospitality on a sensory level, not just a visual one. The kind of place where everything is thought through, even the things most people don’t consciously notice.
The hotel dates back to 1921, and it carries that history beautifully. The most recent major renovation in 2015 is what really brought it into the current century. You still get the charm, the architecture, the presence, but paired with the level of comfort and finish today’s traveler expects.
From the moment you walk in, the experience starts. And interestingly, one of the first things you notice is not what you see, but what you smell.
There’s a signature scent throughout the hotel, even in the elevator, built into the ventilation system so it’s consistent. It’s subtle, but it stays with you. And that matters more than most people realize. Scent is one of the strongest triggers of memory, and this hotel uses it well. It’s part of a bigger picture. This is a place designed to engage all your senses. The look, the feel, the quiet sound of the space, the taste of the food, and yes, even the scent.
Location wise, it sits in one of the best positions in Split. About a ten minute walk to Old Town, so you’re close enough without being in the middle of the crowds. And directly across from Bačvice, the only true sandy beach in the city. That alone already puts it ahead of many options.

Location and Setting
The setting is calm, surrounded by residential buildings and greenery, which gives it a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. You come back here to slow down.
The hotel has 72 rooms across 18 categories, which gives a lot of flexibility depending on the type of traveler. I saw the junior suite with the panoramic view, and there is only one of those. It’s one of those rooms you need to know about ahead of time.
Across all categories, the standards are consistent. Spacious layouts, both shower and bathtub, clean design, and everything you need to feel comfortable for multiple nights, not just pass through.
And then there is the service.
This is where the hotel truly stands out. Fresh flowers in every room. A bottle of wine. Pastries waiting for you. It doesn’t feel staged or excessive. It feels natural. Thoughtful. Exactly what you would expect from a true five star experience.
Breakfast and room service are included, which makes the stay feel smooth. You’re not constantly calculating what’s included and what’s not. It just flows.

Rooms, Service, and Details
For families, this hotel works extremely well. There are connecting room options, and six duplex units that add more space. There’s also the option for families traveling together to take over a section of superior rooms with a shared balcony, which creates a private, connected experience within the hotel.
Outside, it becomes even easier. A playground right across the entrance, the beach just steps away, a pool for slower afternoons. Everything is within reach without effort.
The wellness side is more intimate. A smaller gym and spa, but private, quiet, and well maintained. Not overwhelming, just right.
The hotel is independently owned, part of a small collection, with this being the only property in Split. That independence shows. There’s personality here, not just standards.
They also handle private drivers, private boats, and tailored experiences, which makes planning from here very smooth. The kind of behind the scenes support that makes a trip feel effortless.

Who It Fits Best
Pricing sits around 500 euros for a superior room with a balcony in high season, and around 1200 for the top suite. For the level of service, location, and overall experience, it is very well positioned.
So who is this for?
If you want ultra modern, design forward hotels, this may not be your style. But if you appreciate history, calm surroundings, beach access, and service that actually elevates your stay, this is one of the strongest choices in Split.
For families, it’s easy and well thought out.
For couples, it’s elegant without trying too hard.
And for me, it was the one that stayed with me. Not just because of how it looked, but because of how it made me feel.
